DISCLAIMER I FELT LIKE I BARELY SAW ANYONE THIS SPRING BECAUSE I WAS RUNNING AROUND WITH A STUPID BOY WHO COULDN'T KEEP STILL FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES SO I UNFORTUNATELY MISSED OUT ON A LOT OF GOOD MUSIC AND BARELY GOT ANY CONTENT BECAUSE I SUCK BC HE MADE ME SUCK.

CRSSD fest is one of my FAVORITE fests San Diego has to offer. From the people, the lineup, the vibez, the outfits, the BEAUTIFUL VIEW, and that it’s bi-annually!!!!!!! So TWICE we get to experience the magic of CRSSD each year. Spring is in March and Fall is in September. With the Fall lineup traditionally being a little better and more exciting than Spring...lol.

CRSSD is a strictly house and techno festival. There are three stages: the Palms, City Steps, and the Ocean View. The stages are described by where they are located in the Waterfront park located close to Downtown San Diego. The Palms is located to the right of the entrance and of course surrounded by palm trees. This is the house stage and in my opinion the most POPULAR stage that CRSSD offers. They usually have small umbrellas hanging upside down above the crowd in multiple beautiful colors but this year because of the rain there were no umbrellas :( The CIty Steps is the stage located outside of the San Diego County Clerk’s Office and is considered the techno stage while the Ocean View stage is the main stage. Located all the way at the end of the festival is where everyone gathers with their besties to hear a mix of vibey music and is actually where I spent a majority of my time this Spring.

Day 1:

SO I meet my friend Ry at the Hardrock where her friend Giselle and others were pregaming. WE were so anxious because we wanted to make it into the festival already to see Mr. Mason Maynard ( I LOVE YOUUUUUU ) playing at the Palmzz. The thing about CRSSD is the openers start soooo early around NOON both days. Mason killed it. We were front row for the entire set and I could swear was making googley eyes at me throughout the hour I was blessed with beautiful music. This was also the hour which I learned from Ry was “Lasagna” meant. It is a term I spread to my friendz now that someone uses when they’re starting to feel their drugz. Lol.

I also got to see Petit Biscuit for the first time. He played at the Ocean View stage. It was magical. To be able to hear some of my favorite songs, Problemz, and Sunset Lover live!!! ugh!!! SO GOOD! and the fact he is is so young like 20?? and French! LOVE.

Day 2:

MY BEST FRIEND CAME FROM LA FOR DAY 2!!!!!!!!! We got there pretty early because wanted to celebrate the entire day! We met up with the guy I was seeing at the time, Jared, and danced the day away. We honestly did not move from the Ocean View stage because Alyssa and I were waiting to see our favorite DJ young wheatttyy Whethan and to close out the fest with Odesza.

After Whethan’s set, CRSSD’s app sent out a notification that Whethan would be hanging around this certain bar area so of course Alyssa and I leave our front row spot for Odesza to try and go find our boyfriend Whethan. ANNDD VICTORY!!! There was barely ANYONE there maybe like 5 other people trying to talk to him and what not. We got our chance, we took the photo, we started walking away and then we looked at each other like “WTF just happened?” . It went by so fast!! We started freaking out saying we just wanted to talk to him LOL so we went back up to him and were just like “Please be our friends lol” and then he didn’t play one of my favorite songs of all times Sleepy Eyes ft. Elohim which he usually plays in all of his sets!! And he replaced it with Radar and then closed with a brand new single coming out. I told him my heart was a little broken that he did not play Sleepy Eyes and right then and there he promised me he would never cut it out of his sets again. And the rest was history!

We fortunately/unfortunately ran into my ex-bf Chris at the end of CRSSD while walking to see who was shutting down the PALMZZ stage. Somehow, someway! I convinced him to buy me the sickest CRSSD dad hat that was white with two snakes and to buy Alyssa a CRSSD muscle tee. LOL. Fuckin classic. See you in the Fall!.
