Please listen to Indian Sunflower x Jai Wolf Post Malone Swae Lee.
" WELCOME HOME SPLASH MATEZ!!!"ARE THE FUCKING WORDS THAT GO THROUGH MY MIND AS SPLASH HOUSE JUNE WAS APPROACHING THIS BEAUTIFUL YEAR.
It is now June and I look back on my year so far and am so thankful. I have had the absolute pleasure to attend multiple festivals, concerts, vegas clubs, performances, etc but nothing beats the sunshine and smiles that Splash House brings to me. TWICE A YEAR!!!!!!!! Fucking twice a year. The excitement, the feeling, the vibez, the people, are indescribable to me…..This SH marks my 5th or 6th one I don’t even know anymore!!! TOO MUCH SPLISH SPLASHIN TO COUNT.
THAT LINEUP THOUGH. June’s lineup was fantastic. My #1 prediction for June made it as a headliner, Jai Wolf, because of the release of his album The Cure to Loneliness. I always am a fan of a little night bass action AC Slater, and my boy Medasin. Shiba San, who I saw previously at Countdown, is now about to take the After Hours stage bringing that house music all the way from FRANCE baby!!! And look deep into Dom Dolla’s eyes and take his heart at After Hours too.

This was the first year I had a hotel room under my own name! Me and a bunch of others friends fit 2 air mattresses in the cheapest room at the Riviera next to our King bed! We luckily got a corner room that overlooked the entrance from the restaurant under the shady tree so we were able to see a little bit of the pool and our window opened!! So every morning we danced and blasted music and my friend Ry gave all the breakfast goers their own little show! Luckily, I had friends staying in each hotel this year. We call this base camp. Although it is nice to be in side-by-side rooms in the same hotel as all your other splash house friends, having a place at each hotel you can call “home” is the move. Now you’ll have a place to sit in the AC, drink water, and party on the pool view balconies with all your homies. Perks of staying in one of the three hotels (Renny, Riv, or Sag) also gives you the chance to throw pregames and is a great way to just meet new people and connect with old friends.
My first stop Saturday was at the Renaissance around 3:30-4pm. PRIME DAY TIME BABY. But I walk in and see SAME SET DESIGN AS LAST YEAR. The Renaissance deserves a 0/10 on the creativity level as well as a 0/10 in organization. After attending an El Row party in Las Vegas with Fisher and Nora En Pure, any party or event I go to I immediately compare to that. Splash House brings such a special audience and group of people that I think it deserves decorations to match the vibes and energy. The Saguaro does an amazing job with fulfilling the vibez but the Renaissance just looks like another hotel crowded on a hot summer day. The most colorful thing you’ll see their is the fucking tarps that shade you by the stage area and the umbrellas that shade the DJz.The bars and water stations are unorganized, no clear signs on EXIT or BATHROOMS. The tables and daybeds Splash House offers are also poorly organized and stationed. I know the event is so crazy and unpredictable but something has got to change at the main hotel to make the experience a little better.

Okay, let’s throw it back to the Saguaro. Over the years, the Sag is where you go to rage!!!! It is where everyone goes to do all their mother fucking drugz and dance their asses off so close to the pool with all of their besties. I SHOW UP 6PM middle of Kill Frenzy’s set on Saturday….maybe 150-200 people there.. MAYBE. DEAD FUCKING DEAD. My friend Jared and I could not fucking believe it. He is a Splash House veteran so old that it was back when the decks were right on the edge of the pool on the opposite side at the Sag with Sunburn throwing down. He could not believe that no one was there. It was a ghost town. No one was even listening to the music. The vibes were so bad. I was disappointed and shocked and confused like wtf is going on SPLASH HOUSE???? The stage was a little different this year with a white wall built on the left side, centering the DJ more to the right.

Therefore we made our way over to the Riviera for the end of Medasin’s set and to see Troyboi finish it off Saturday night. I walked in and my mouth dropped. It was beautiful. Although there were no fun and funky orange lanterns like last year hanging above the pool, there were so many people there, SO MANY PEOPLE!!!! vibing to Medasin. It was then and there I realized the Riviera is the new Saguaro. AND THE STAGE SET UP. I LOST IT. It was like a beautiful wooden teepee home filled with dark green leaves, trees, bushes, and ivy. It was breath taking! I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing while Medasin was playing at this most magical background. Props to the stage design team. It really made up for the no lanterns and lack of color at the Renny. AND I WAITED FOR HIM TO FINISH HIS SET AND I CALLED HIM OVER BY THE LITTLE SECURITY GATE TO TELL HIM HOW MUCH HIS POST MALONE REMIX OF I FALL APART MEANS TO ME AND THEN I RAN BACK TO MY FRIENDS AND ALMOST SLIPPED AND ATE SHIT BUT BY FAR ONE OF MY MOST FAV MEMORIES FROM ALL MY SPLASH HOUSE ADVENTURES!!

Dom Dolla drew a huge crowd for After Hours. The crowd was fuller earlier in the night than compared to Friday. When he played ‘Take It’ the crowd loved it and it was like out of a movie. O got chills even though I was sitting down for it. It was a moment I will never forget.
Day 2 I started at the Saguaro earlier in the day. I kept thinking it was going to be dead like how it was yesterday but nope! Everyone came out early to enjoy the sun and the music. The Saguaro was finally popping, and it started to feel more like home. This guy offered to buy me water when we were sitting on the edge of the pool and he doesn’t come back for like 20 minutes and he goes “Oh my god they said they’re running out of water!”, therefore he had to purchase a different drink!! RUNNING OUT OF WATERRRR HOW CAN SPLASH HOUSE BE RUNNING OUT OF WATER AT ONE OF THE HOTELS. It honestly scared me a bit. Were all the hotels going to be like this?
I ended my day at the Riv to see Jai Wolf. Unfortunately Jai Wolf and Night Bass King AC Slater were scheduled to play at the same damnnnn time (AC at the Sag). I picked solely on the fact that Indian Summer x Jai Wolf is probably my favorite song of all time. Like every single basic bitch out there but IDGAF. It is a song that means so much to me. It would have been my second time hearing it live. BUT GUESS MOTHERFUCKING WHAT. HE DID NOT DROP IT. He mixed it with Sunflower x Post Malone and Swae Lee. Although I knew I was hearing something special, probably heard by only a few others, in the moment I could not help but feel some disappointment. I ended up posting about it and Jai Wolf responded calling the song, ‘Indian Sunflower’. He said at his larger shows he still always plays Indian Summer but I what?? Were we not special enough or a big enough crowd to hear the song that got you famous? The song that people LOVE? The song that people bought their SH tickets to hear live? Cool to hear a new remix but he still should’ve dropped it at the end.
After the show was over I heard back with my friend Jared to the Saguaro. We decided to lay on the hammocks. It was my first time laying on these hammocks and we just stared at the stars and talked a lot about our relationship and our future. It was honestly my favorite moment of Splash House June. Even though I was mad at the Saguaro, I was happy it brought me this moment.
See you in August.
